DRAGON

DRAGON

Part of spacetime and love stories.

Venice and Glasgow are identical twins after all.

A continuous wave created by an interstellar object visiting our solar system was embraced by a planet with an explosion. The moment was right. Jupiter would take the hit and Earth would be fine.

‘How are you? I am fine.’

Competing with galactic events could be my next aspiration in life. Until then, in my reality the object was an orange and the place was Glasgow. It smelled damp. We’ve absorbed the habit of running under the rain, and programmed our feet to race instinctively like Earth’s revolution around the Sun.

There was a feeling of excitement and urgency to be in more places at the same time, in a rush to catch the last open shop, get a glimpse of an exhibition and be at two parties in the same night. Like a simplified world of electrons skipping levels, striving to reach the configuration of Helium. That was Glasgow.

Overly intellectualised conversations in restaurants with dragon ceilings, the smell of freshly baked bread at 4am in the morning and races of sleep deprivation.

‘How’s it gawn?’

2,196km south east, circled by water and lost in the loop of our orbital, a summer storm refreshed our soft skin and yet again our feet began the race. The sound of the water splashes under our feet on marble pavements, echoing in the narrow streets of the Serenissima, was competing with the lightning echoes in the sky.

Like in a movie scene, we are the only ones there to tell the world how to behave. Somehow our nerve cells dictate the smells, the sounds and the night hues to get that feeling of being young and head over heals. Nothing yells Thelma and Louise more than owning the streets of the Queen of the Adriatic. Powerful and lovesick since ancient times.

Just like in those dreams where flying is incurable you’re aware of the feeling in an instant and suddenly it had always belonged to you.

100,000 years have passed in cosmic time and hydrogen met helium becoming the founding pillars of stars. The first stars are created, short lived ending with spectacular supernova explosions.

It all started with an inside joke, but we know now that I’ve met her before I met her.

The ‘Dragon’ picture is part of a limited collection of T-Shirts now available for PRE-ORDERS here.

The T-shirts are printed with photos from the project Escaping Velocity 1.4142 about spacetime and love. There is a story behind each picture, but I hope they won’t make sense on the first read, and leave you with just a feeling, or the smell of summer and good food.
