Sima is a Romanian/Italian photographer and artist. Graduated from the Glasgow School of Art with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Photography. She has lived and worked in Romania, Italy, Scotland, UK and Sweden.
Born in Transylvania, raised in the north of Italy.
Currently living and enjoying the Glaswegian rain.
Currently living and enjoying the Mancunian life-style.
Currently pausing living and enjoying the Swedish cultural liveliness.
Currently exploring a new space and the feeling of Cologne.
Her perspective of life and work is connected to being part of a migratory generation, in which the ideas of borders and belonging, connected strictly to the land where one was born have become obsolete.
Her work often derives from the question: “From all the ways we could have evolved we ended up like this?”
She is passionate about projects involving the effect of politics on minorities, migration and the laws of governance on Earth and space. Her ideas are glued together with a feeling of nostalgic happiness and humor.
She likes bananas at 5pm and croissants in the morning, dinner is served at 8.30pm.
