The “Lifeline” project aims to document and celebrate the experiences of individuals and families who have migrated to Sweden. Through a combination of powerful photographs and written self-stories, the project seeks to capture the diverse and personal journeys of those who have chosen to call Sweden their home.
The photo documentary project offers a multicultural portrayal of the immigrant experience in Sweden, highlighting the challenges, triumphs, and emotions of those who have made the journey to this new home.
The project includes personal interviews, providing insight into their motivations for moving to Sweden and the interconnectedness of their paths dependent on politics, coincidence, and choice. The stories are as varied as their backgrounds, yet each shares a common thread of resilience navigating the opportunities and difficulties of their new surroundings.
I invite all those who have migrated to Sweden to participate in this project by sharing their stories. I believe that everyone’s journey is worth telling regardless of whether it was filled with challenges or triumphs. By sharing your story, you can help create a mosaic of narratives that will shed light on the complexity and richness of the migrant experience.
I will work with each participant to ensure that their story is told in a respectful and authentic manner, highlighting their unique journey and experiences.
The photographs and self-stories will be compiled into an art exhibit that lives online and selected photographs and stories will be part of exhibitions open to the public, providing a platform for the voices of migrants to be heard and appreciated.
If you would like to take part in this project or know someone who would, please contact me or fill in the form to schedule a photoshoot and interview. Let’s celebrate the journeys that have brought us to Sweden and inspire others to voice their story.
